No crossplay at launch, because GTA 6 launches as a single-player game. Rockstar has not announced an online mode, its release date, or whether it will support crossplay or cross-progression between PS5, Xbox and a future PC version.

Almost certainly, eventually, but not on day one. GTA Online arrived about two weeks after GTA 5, and Red Dead Online about a month after Red Dead Redemption 2. If Rockstar follows either pattern, an online mode could arrive between late 2026 and early 2027. That’s a pattern, not a promise.
GTA Online and Red Dead Online have never supported crossplay between PlayStation and Xbox, and even PS4 and PS5 GTA Online players are in separate lobbies. If your friends are split across consoles, plan for no crossplay until Rockstar says otherwise.
Not at launch. GTA 6 is single-player at release, and Rockstar hasn’t announced crossplay for any future online mode.
It’s sold on both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, but cross-platform play between them isn’t confirmed.
Not announced.
Rockstar has never added PlayStation–Xbox crossplay to GTA Online, and there’s no announcement that it will.
Digital GTA 6 pre-orders include a month of GTA+, Rockstar’s subscription for the current GTA Online (GTA 5).
